Description:

DOB April 1, 2019. Hello, my name is Sassafras though our foster humans call me Sassy. I'm best friends with Pinkerton and would really like to be adopted with her. We've been through a few things together and look after each other, as friends do.I'm a friendly girl. I may seem shy at first but that's because I'm learning to trust humans. Give me time and I will get there. I love to play with my toys and to run around at different times of the day. I also enjoy napping and, once I find a few favourite spots, that's where you are likely to find me for good parts of the day. I would do well in a quiet home with patient humans who will give me time to warm up to them. Note from Sassy's foster family:Although initially shy, Sassy has come a long way in a short time in her foster home. She doesn't feel the need to hide any more and her napping spots are in the open, on a dining table chair or in a comfy blanketed box on the floor. She is more comfortable right now with the foster mom than the dad, and comes alive when she enters a room. She can be quite chatty at those times as she tells her foster mom about her day and complains about the dufusy foster dad and his corny dad jokes. In the evenings, she will often sit with mom on the top of the sofa, sometimes letting Pinkerton groom her and sometimes just hanging out with her favourite human.Sassy loves to use a scratching post and has not touched any of the furniture. She is a healthy girl and likes to eat though she is a grazer rather than a gobbler. Sassy prefers wet food but will eat dry kibble as well. She is very good about using the litter box in the basement. She also likes being brushed and petted but doesn't care for being picked up.She and her best friend, Pinkerton, have been a real delight to have in our house and will brighten up their forever home as well. Thank you for considering this lovely BFF pair.Sassafras was found as a stray. Thank you for giving two best friends a loving home together! Our adoption fee for an adult bonded pair is $150 per cat, versus our standard fee of $200 per adult cat.Adoption processAdoption fee is $200 per adult cat, and $250 for kittens (under 8 months old). This ensures that the cats that come into our care receive the attention they need, are spayed or neutered, and receive a rabies vaccination at the appropriate age. For City of Toronto residents, the adoption fee includes a mandatory City of Toronto cat license that is valid for one year. As you can imagine, these fees only begin to cover our costs; donations and ongoing fundraising efforts carry us the rest of the way! Note: -Senior cats (8 years or older) have an adoption fee of the adopter's choice, vs. our standard adult adoption fee of $200.-Our adoption fee for an adult bonded pair (8 months or older) is $150 per cat vs. $200 per cat. Thanks for giving two loving friends a home together!
